Sandra Bullock is in the process of adopting a baby boy from New Orleans as first reported by PEOPLE. She’s been keeping the baby a secret since January.

He’s been her bit of joy since the ruin of her marriage to Jesse James after winning her Oscar in March for The Blindside. His name is Louis Bardo Bullock, and he’s 3 1/2 months old. (And he’s a little cutie!)

“He’s just perfect, I can’t even describe him any other way,” Bullock tells PEOPLE. “It’s like he’s always been a part of our lives.”

She started the adoption process with Jesse four years ago, and now that it is almost finalized and Sandra is pushing forward with her divorce, Jesse is relinquishing his parental rights of Louis.
